Marikina officials inaugurate street-LED lights in 2 barangays

Marikina City Congresswoman Maan Teodoro and Mayor Marcy Teodoro recently inaugurated the street LED lights in several areas in the city, in line with their Ilaw ng Pag-asa program.

The project aims to provide safety and security to residents by lighting up not just major roads, but also alleys and streets near their homes.

The two-day event saw the inauguration of the street LED lights in Barangay Tumana and Barangay Malanday.

The former included the oathtaking of various neighborhood associations, such as the Doña Petra Neighborhood Association, Iwahig Doña Petra, Liwanag Unified Santiago Neighborhood Association, Road 1 & 2 Bukang Liwayway Doña Petra HOA. Meanwhile, in Barangay Malanday, the Samahang Ilaw at Gabay Purok 5 and Canada associations were also part of the event.

Funded by Congresswoman Maan's office, the Ilaw ng Pag-asa program aims to provide well-lit streets and alleys to give residents peace of mind and security.

Also present during the event were city councilors, Barangay Captain Mak Alfonso of Malanday, Marikina City Chief of Police Col. Earl Castillo, and several other city officials.
