Marikina aims to set record for mass blood donation
In celebration of National Blood Donor’s Month, the Marikina City government, the City Health Office, and the Philippine Blood Center will hold a one-day city-wide mass blood donation with the theme, “Safe Blood for All,” on July 28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Marikina Convention Center in Barangay Concepcion Dos.
Marikina hopes to break the current record by collecting at least 1,000 bags of blood in the upcoming blood donation drive.
Mayor Marcelino Teodoro urged Marikeños to take part in making history and extending help to those in need.
Teodoro said he understood the importance of communities having access to sufficient and safe supply of blood.
Marikina City officials will visit every barangay in Marikina to offer free shuttle services from the barangay hall to the venue and back to those who will participate in the donation drive.
