Lois Anne Badando from Brgy. Concepcion Uno won the coveted Miss Marikina 2018 title last Saturday night, besting 34 other contestants from different communities in the city, in a glittering evening that showcased Marikina's talent, beauty, wit, confidence and glamor. 

Lois Anne, who was candidate number 1, won P100,000 in cash, a five-day, four-night trip to Phuket Thailand that includes airfare and hotel accommodation, among other fabulous prizes.

Sharielle Yanson from Brgy. Marikina Heights took home the Miss Marikina Earth title, placing second to Lois Anne. Candidate number 30 Sharielle won P75,000 in cash, a round-trip ticket, and a lot more. Sharielle also won a number of special awards namely Miss David Salon, Miss Happy Tourism, Miss Jergens and Best in Long Gown.

Aubrey Angelic Neis from Brgy. Nangka was named Miss Marikina Tourism. Aubrey, who was candidate number 3, won P50,000 in cash, a round-trip ticket, and more.

Ma. Angelica Reyes from Brgy. Concepcion Uno won First Runner Up. Candidate number 4 Angelica took home P30,000 in cash prizes and a lot more. She also won as Best in Talent after doing a magic trick presentation during the talent competition on November 11held at the Marikina City Hall Quadrangle.

Almas Choudhry from Brgy. Jesus dela Pena won Second Runner Up. Almas, who was candidate number 12, won P20,000 in cash prizes and more.

Before the announcement of the final five, the 35 candidates were first trimmed to 15 and were each asked questions by the board of judges. After the question and answer portion, the final five candidates were chosen. Then another round of question and answer portion to determine who among the top five candidates would take the throne and wear the crown of the Miss Marikina.

As the winner of the Miss Marikina title, Lois Anne will become Marikina City's official ambassadress, promoting the city as one of the best in the Philippines in terms of good governance, excellent public service and as an ideal tourist destination.

The candidates competed in talent, swimwear, long gown, question and answer and Sapatos Festival Costume. The criteria of judging included: beauty, 30 percent; poise and confidence, 30 percent; intelligence and wit, 30 percent; and, audience impact, 10 percent.

Special awards were also handed out during the coronation night to the following candidates:

Miss Congeniality, candidate number 13, Shayne Badua from Brgy. Parang

People's Choice Award, candidate number 18 Aliyah Tiangco  from Brgy. Sto. Nino

Director's Choice Award, candidate number 34, Maulie Rariza from Brgy. Kalumpang

Miss Photogenic, candidate number 29, Mary Anne Del Prado from Brgy. Malanday

Best in Sapatos Festival Costume, candidate number 25, Chelcy Dela Paz

Best in Swimwear, candidate number 25, Chelcy Dela Paz

Miss Kia Motors Acropolis, candidate numbe 25, Chelcy Dela Paz

Miss Happy Tourism, candidate number 7,Bethia Francesca Arollado from Brgy. Fortune (co-winner with Sharielle Yanson)

The coronation night finished at around 1:00 in the morning with firework display to greet the winners, especially the newly-crowned Miss Marikina 2018.

The Miss Marikina search was organized by the City Government of Marikina under the leadership of Mayor Marcy Teodoro and the Blue Company.
