Marikina officials grant wish of a 10-year-old student

Marikina Rep. Maan Teodoro and Mayor Marcy Teodoro granted the wish of a 10-year-old Grade 5 student Sakirah Rhianna M. Mallari, a resident of Barangay Industrial Valley Complex (IVC), to have a foodcart business for her family.

Mallari wished for a foodcart that would allow her family to sell siomai and other food items as a source of livelihood.

Her wish was granted Tuesday night.  Her family could start their foodcart business on the riverside under the Marcos Hi-Way Bridge in Barangay IVC.

Rep. Maan, Mayor Marcy and their daughter Bela became the first customers of Mallari's family.

Mayor Marcy allows vendors to sell products on the site to provide them livelihood opportunities and recover from the impact of the pandemic.

The mayor asked the vendors and residents to keep the place clean and in order.

The site is now a preferred destination of food vloggers and local tourists.
