Marikina celebrates Women's Day
The city of Marikina kicked off its Women's Day celebration with a vibrant and colorful event called Indak ng Kababaihan. Women from different sectors in the city participated in a synchronized dance to showcase their solidarity in promoting gender equality and inclusivity.
The Marikina Gender and Development Office, together with the Marikina City Police Station, organized the event to honor the significant roles of women in society. The dance was a powerful expression of women's strength, resilience, and determination to create a better and more inclusive world for all.
The event was also a way to recognize the different roles that women play, whether as mothers, sisters, grandmothers, friends, workers, or leaders. It aimed to emphasize the importance of having a strong mind, heart, and body to fulfill these roles and contribute to society.
The Indak ng Kababaihan was just the first of many events lined up to celebrate Women's Day in Marikina. The city government has organized various activities, such as workshops, forums, and exhibits, to empower and inspire women to achieve their full potential.
Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro expressed his gratitude to all the women who participated in the event and highlighted the importance of women in society. He also emphasized the city's commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusivity and providing opportunities for women to thrive and succeed.
