Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro led the site inspection of the new government building located on Fortune Avenue in Barangay Fortune on May 9, 2023. Accompanied by officials from various agencies responsible for maintaining order and safety in the city, the mayor visited each vacant floor of the building to ensure that its usage would be efficient, safe, and appropriate once it opens in the coming months.

The Public Safety Building, a seven-story structure with a multi-purpose roof deck, will house the Philippine National Police-Marikina and the Office of Public Safety and Security. Mayor Teodoro emphasized the importance of ensuring that the building's design, both inside and out, is of high quality, so he tasked the city's architects to create appropriate plans for the needs of the PNP-Marikina and the OPSS.

The lot on which the building stands is located far from flood-prone areas, and the Marikina City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office is also situated nearby. Mayor Teodoro's thorough site inspection underscores the city's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and promoting the efficient use of government resources.
