No Gerald Anderson for Marikina Shoemasters in next MPBL season
Actor Gerald Anderson will not be playing for the Marikina Shosmasters in the next season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, the team’s head coach revealed.
Anderson’s name was not on the list of players submitted by head coach Elvis Tolentino to the league.
Tolentino said Anderson, an MPBL All-Star and one of the league’s leaders in steals with an average of 1.68 per game, had begged off from playing in the coming season, which would start on June 12.
“He (Anderson) might not be able to play because of his schedule,” Tolentino said.
The Shoemasters will, however, bring in for the next season several holdovers, including Renato Ular, Jondan Salvador, and Yves Sazon.
The Marikina ballers are also banking on the participation of former NAASCU MVP Christian Caldozo, Von Tambeling, Joshua Gonzales, Isan dela Peña, JJ Española, and Paeng Rebugio.
